Okay, it's officially panic mode as there are barely two weekends left before the big Halloween Night. I am actually more excited with Halloween than with Christmas. I mean, you can throw me anywhere on Christmas day and I won't give a shit, but with Halloween, Oh, no, no ,no, no! I have to be in the big city where the big parties are happening. I love the day because it's the only day people dress up and I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with. Other than the grossly scary one's costume parties are fab (or at least the parties I've been to)!

I've been Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Cher, Anna Wintour, Christian Dior's Mummy in the past and this year has to beat them all. I enjoy editorializing the costumes from fashion's perspective. Like if I ever go out as a sexy chambermaid, I'd rather be someone like from the Betsey Johnson show. Or I'd rather look like Lara Stone from Vogue Italia instead of just looking like a slutty nun. You get what I mean? So, for this entry I'll be posting my halloween costume options until such time I've decided on what to really wear on the big night.

Panty Monsters will also be providing the music for the street party and I heard, the organizers are providing a gorgeous stage with a catwalk! Hope to see you all there. :)

or maybe it's about time that I become

I earlier tweeted that Sarah Burton's collection for  the house of Alexander McQueen  is " just a review of the brand's past seasons' best" and has "no wow factor." I stand by my first statement that the silhouette, technique, and fantasy was almost lifted up from the past collections as headed by Lee himself. It is not really a bad thing, come to think of it. Where else best to start but to pick up where the leader has left of. Especially if the shoe she is filling in is considered by many as a fashion genius. It makes me wonder if the silhouettes are homage to connect the past as a medium to claim what could be her  future? Or a business strategy to sell new McQueens (without McQueen) by sticking to it's DNA?  Besides, Burton has worked side by side long enough with the Man of the House that this could be her way of claiming what was originally her successful ideas all along. It's a thought which is hard to verify but a point to ponder, nevertheless. A point proved by the tale of the collection which started with a strong all white statement - a slashed jacket shoulders , probably a symbol of re-birth. I am getting a strong subtext of takeover from the narrative which is further proved by that slashing- McQueen's signature is hard, peaked shoulders. As if it was saying that  "If Lee was once the in-house Wizard, Burton now claims the throne as the in-house  Mother Witch!"   Add that to the fact the narrative resonates with a pagan Mother Earth-ly spirit of blooms, wheat, butterflies, and birds.  And about that "no wow factor" thing, I honestly missed on checking the detailed photos of the collection before I tweeted that and after a careful inspection of the sick and laborious detailing, it deserves an all caps "WOW!" I am actually expecting her to pull a Frida Gianini (stripping off the Tom Ford-ness in Gucci and succeeded in showing her own version of sexy instead). Now that we know she can replicate the McQueen craftmanship and shape, I am more interested to see her own version of the theme and the genius the house is known for. Let's just hope that the slashing of the jacket sleeves is the start of a new chapter inside the House of McQueen.

No offense meant for the Maison, its just that... I need one asap and the only way i could have it for a couple of hundred bucks is to buy a liter of Latex paint and thrift a suit. So sorry. :(
Well not really, coz I like how it turned out. It has a gloss finish which kinda resembles leather but the suit turned stiff from the thick coat of paint that it could stand on its own. And I'm not sure if I'd be able to wear it, so we're quits.

 San Antonio, represent!
I'm gonna share this to you because I think they're cool. These graffitis can be seen in  Santol Street in San Antonio Village, Makati. It's a small alley from where I live and I always make it a point that I pass by this stretch of wall everyday. Kinda gives me the vibe I need for the rest of the day. What's nice about this wall is that it changes every 2 weeks. These cartoony art is gone now and they changed it into something textual. I'll update this post as soon as I get new photos of the wall.

watch & listen

" A full orchestra of 80 musicians sawed through romantic arrangements of Björk, the Verve, and John "007" Barry to soundtrack the 18-minute show ."-style.com
It's so nostalgic to hear Bjork and The Verve , both big stars from nineties. team up for a project like Chanel. I think they rearranged Bjork's "Isobel" minus the electronica part of it.  Isobel is one of my fave Bjork song. GV! Not to mention I like this guy's tweed jacket and yes, Brad, too, minus the baby.
