Every now and then, especially on a stormy weather like tonight, you'll be surprised on what you stumble upon over the web. While rummaging in the deepest archive of google photos about some research project, my search eventually led into something interesting. I found this fictional sexy illustrations of Red Sonja in fiery red hair and what seemed like a chainmail lingerie. The illustrations are awesome and sorta near from what I am researching about. I youtube-d Red Sonja if there were any full-length animation made about her but lo and behold, I found the 1985 movie with Brigitte Nielsen instead.  It's a fantasy movie from the '80s and since it's a pre-Peter Jackson fantasy film, my expectations aren't that high.I just wanted to see how they interpreted Red Sonja's costume but unfortunately, it's nothing close compared to the illustrated version. I just wished her hair is more red because she's RED Sonja (duh). All is not gone to waste, however. The opening scene is a visual fashion treat  with close references to Givenchy (studs), John Galliano (hair and helmets), and Alexander Mcqueen (Queen Gedren's first outfit). Queen Gedren has the best costume and check out her leggings metal details. If you wanna watch it, the full movie is in youtube. Nevermind the storyline and acting, just focus on the grand production and costume design. I also found out that there's a remake of this film on 2011 with Rose McGowan on the title role.

There's something on Sundays which I haven't told you about. It's the weekly Sunday Feeding Program. It's basically a Sunday dinner where all of our friends would come over and my housemate, Lendro, would cook fancy recipes. This tradition has been going on for about a year now and we always open our doors to visitors. These dinners dishes out the hottest gossips, hotter than the bowl of soup, and a debriefing of the week's passed. So for last night, we had Purple Cabbage Cold Salad with thin parmesan slices and vinaigrette sauce, Peppered Grilled Tuna, Clam Fetuccini in Olive Oil and Semillon Chardonnay. -Burp-

While searching for some new inspiration, these old photos of samurai warriors from Edo period caught my attenttion. I think they are very attractive. The process used to color the black and white photos brought out the rich details of their costumes. The portraits would make good editorial inspiration for summer 2011. Think Haider Ackermann and Louis Vuitton.

Okay, it's officially panic mode as there are barely two weekends left before the big Halloween Night. I am actually more excited with Halloween than with Christmas. I mean, you can throw me anywhere on Christmas day and I won't give a shit, but with Halloween, Oh, no, no ,no, no! I have to be in the big city where the big parties are happening. I love the day because it's the only day people dress up and I'm excited to see what everyone comes up with. Other than the grossly scary one's costume parties are fab (or at least the parties I've been to)! 

 I've been Bowie, Marilyn Manson, Cher, Anna Wintour, Christian Dior's Mummy in the past and this year has to beat them all. I enjoy editorializing the costumes from fashion's perspective. Like if I ever go out as a sexy chambermaid, I'd rather be someone like from the Betsey Johnson show. Or I'd rather look like Lara Stone from Vogue Italia instead of just looking like a slutty nun. You get what I mean? So, for this entry I'll be posting my halloween costume options until such time I've decided on what to really wear on the big night. 

Panty Monsters will also be providing the music for the street party and I heard, the organizers are providing a gorgeous stage with a catwalk! Hope to see you all there. :)
